Welch’s Transport Limited
Welch’s Transport hits new heights in 2007
Despite a challenging start to the year and increased market pressure Welch’s Transport’s turnover for the year January-December 2007 increased by 8% over 2006, helped by the strategic acquisition of Dods Brown Distribution, and the successful bid for the Paperchase contract. During this period its fleet increased in number from 115 to 130, with employees increasing by a proportionate amount. The increase in efficiency was helped significantly by the six-figure investment in a new Stirling IT system, the full benefits of which for both customers and the organization are still to be realised.
Looking ahead to 2008, the mood of optimism continues with a new senior management team who will be focused on the three key areas of Sales and Marketing, Operations and Customer Relationship Management, and who in turn have the support of experienced, entrepreneurial and motivated staff.
